First after jam update


Well... no boss or playable level :p
I don't know how I manage to keep underestimating the work required for making a souls-like.  I just wanted to push something for today, (I had it written on the level floor that I would), so there's not much here to show.

What's in the update?

I managed to create an enemy: halberd-rat, it has 3 attack animations.

There's a lot that goes into making a simple grunt enemy for a souls-like apparently. I didn't really go too in-depth with the rat AI, it's just randomly attacking more-less. I also needed to introduce a stagger bar so the player wouldn't be able to stun lock it to death. I'm definitely going to explore the AI part more, as there's definitely interesting stuff that can be done to make an opponent more interesting to fight.

Anyway, I'm still quite eager to work on this, I haven't worked on a game outside of a jam for forever, so I hope this will be my first long term project. I will however take it way slower now, as I have personal stuff coming up, but I'll keep working on it, the next update hopefully will have a level and boss, and a lot more polish, although I'm not setting any defined dates. I'd be happy if I managed to do that in less than 1.5 months.

I was really happy getting couple follows from the jam, to see people interested in this. So thank you for that and thanks for reading my 3am mumblings as well ^^
